Diva Half Marathon Recap

On Sunday a small group of my family & friends headed down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the Diva 5k & Diva Half Marathon.  We all initially started training for the 5k, until my friend & I discussed doing the half.  We had both completed half marathons before, but deciding to run the Diva without training was a "toughy". We finally gave it the thumbs up and didn't look back.  I'm so blessed to have such great family & friends.  My mom, sister, oldest niece  sister in law & 2 friends completed the 5k.   The Diva half marathon was absolutely AMAZING! It was so fun, inspiring & motivating to see so many women get together to empower one another...and the let's not forget the ability to dress like a princess :) Once we decided to complete the run, we all knew that we wanted tutus.  I had so much fun creating these tutus for everyone!  They will be available for purchase in a couple of week on Etsy under the store name GlitterandGirl.  These tutus can be completely customized from child to adult, size, color, length, and thickness!

Here are a few pictures from this past weekend
Kenda & I ready to rock the half!

The reason I run is to stay healthy for this little princess.

The 5k finishers & the kids!

My everything! The entire race these two were constantly on my mind.  I kept saying to myself "Keep running, your have the best supporters ever that you get to see at the finish line!

My sister, mom and oldest niece! So proud of them!  My niece ran/walked 2.5 miles!! AMAZING

The group together before separating...love these tutus so cute & comfortable!

Half marathon running mommas:)

We all are currently planning out the next couple of months of running...so exciting! If you are considering running a 5k or half the Diva is the way to go.  Click here to find a run near you!

Life is Good

Our day normally starts between the times of 6:45-8:00...I know such a huge time gap! Before Berkley was born I read every book and searched every website on "Baby scheduling". The only schedule that exists in this household is that right after supper we are thinking about dessert :) But honestly, scheduling is such a task and the hubs and I wanted to have the ability to go as we please except for nap time (usually every 2-3 hours). So far it works for us! Now on to the goodies....pictures

Breakfast is a must for me (egg whites & oatmeal). If I don't have breakfast my day just doesn't seem to go as well! Ben on the other hand does not like breakfast :( Berkley is still deciding if breakfast is a must or a skip, but I still make breakfast for her! Her breakfast usually consists of any kind of fruit, egg yolks, and/or Cheerios.

I'm always so busy taking pictures of Berk that I forget that I want to be in them too! This was a rare after church photo session.  Normally, we are rushing home for nap time.

Oh, how I love this SWEET face

Our days are FULL of play...no lie we play "ery day, all day". Don't ask where that came from....I am a southern girl you know?!?

Love this picture. Simply put....it melts my entire heart!

Welcome to my blog!

Hi!

First, I'd like to thank you for checking out my little blog!  So I've contemplated blogging for sometime now and I've actually started not 1, not 2, but 3 blogs and really never stuck with it! Each blog featured a different aspect of my life so I thought I would combine it all here on "Glitter & Girl". So you ask what will you see here? My life...my family, fitness, my style and really anything that I deem interesting! So for starters here's a little about myself!

My name is Whitney, I am a teacher turned stay at home mom (SAHM). I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, working out, going to church, celebrating holidays, dressing up and eating healthy.  I've taught for 2 and a half years (Kindergarten & 2nd).  I love reading blogs & am addicted to Instagram (whitneyc1988) & Target.

My daughter Berkley & I rocking our bows!

Oh how she loves this big fella (Rambo)
